At Regina Mater we have a unique AMI-guide led program based on Maria Montessori’s educational pedagogy and Catholic faith. Her attachment to our Blessed Mother and her Son is evident in our sacred prayer space and in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd “atrium”.
The guide prepares a beautiful environment, provides the children with the “grace and courtesy” lessons to work in community and ultimately “follows’ the child”.
The result? Courteous, curious and engaged children eager to learn and do real work themselves.
A typical day in Mariengarten includes:
Morning greeting
Chapel
Grace and courtesy lessons (social and emotional development)
Lessons and the Work of the child
Practical life lessons - for it is here the child gains confidence to do real work
Language arts lessons
Math lessons
Geography lessons
Art and music lessons
There are openings for our Mariengarten class, a Catholic part-time Montessori program.
